History of Faith Christian School
The people of Faith Lutheran Church, and others in the community had been thinking and praying about opening a Christian School in Detroit Lakes. After many meetings, much consideration, and thoughtful planning, Faith Christian School opened its doors in 1997 with a few PreK-Kindergarten students. In the following years, grade levels were added to accommodate the growing students. The school classrooms were first held in the church building with the gym being the sanctuary modified. After a few years operating completely out of the church, portable classrooms were added to the north side of the building. At that time, we were able to use the church's new fellowship hall for a gym. In 2021, plans began for a brand-new school building to replace the portable classrooms. Now we are blessed to have a half gym, bathrooms, and 4 classrooms. Our prayer has always been and will continue to be that our school would honor the Lord in all we do, and help parents train their children in the ways of the Lord. It is our goal to provide a high quality and affordable education which ministers to the whole child--body, mind and spirit--based on a Christ centered curriculum, rooted in Scripture and designed to reinforce the values and morals taught in the Chrisian home and church.
